The Names in the Dark
I don't trust the dates on my own notes anymore, which is a strange thing to write in a note. I found an entry two weeks ago dated for a day that, according to my supply log, I hadn't reached yet. I have no explanation. I am not going to pretend I have one.
A name keeps surfacing in places it has no reason to be — scratched faintly under one of the tree marks, present in a half-legible margin note in a file I downloaded years before I came out here, and once, I am fairly sure, in a dream I did not fully wake up from correctly.
I am not going to write the name tonight. I want to see if it stops appearing if I don't give it my attention. I don't actually believe that will work. I am doing it anyway.
